With your help, we'd like to support 3 main charities for 2025. These charities help to make the Dartmoor Classic safe and possible to run.
By raising sponsorship, you can ride the Dartmoor Classic for free.
Here's how it works.
When you sign-up to enter the Dartmoor Classic (any route) you will have the option to select "Charity Entry [Ride 4 FREE]"
By selecting this option:
1, You pledge to raise £200 of sponsorship for your choice of the 3 charities below.
2, After the event, when you complete your pledge, your £60 entry fee will be refunded to you.
The 3 charities are:
Dartmoor Search and Rescue Ashburton (DSRT)
If you've ridden the classic in previous years you will know these guys. Always pleased to help and always happy to have a joke. On their serious side of life they spend hours of their own time training, to be ready to go out on to Dartmoor in any weather to help people in difficulty. During the Dartmoor Classic they help by serving food and drinks at our main Feed Station and, more importantly they help navigate and control our medical support service for cyclists.
Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT)
A vital service that we hope not to use during the Dartmoor Classic, although they have been called out once or twice. With access to Dartmoor over it's rugged landscape the fastest way to get to an injured person is by Air Ambulance. In this region their service saves lives without a doubt. With DAAT on standby our participants are just that little bit safer should the worst happen.
Dartmoor National Park (Donate for Dartmoor)
So obviously we love being able to run our event on Dartmoor and thanks to Dartmoor National Park Authority, land owners and Dartmoor residents we can. This year sees the set-up of a brand new Dartmoor Foundation which will raise funds for Dartmoor Cycling and Walking Infrastructure. A consultation plan will be released by Dartmoor National Park soon, so you can put forward your thoughts on what's important to you as a Dartmoor user. This could include, pot hole maintenance, charge points for e-bikes, signage to raise awareness of cyclists on the roads. Your support could make all the difference.
