Event Information

The Dartmoor Classic Sportive is an annual cycling challenge, organised and run by Mid-Devon Cycling ClubEstablished in 2007, the Dartmoor Classic aims to bring a pro tour cycling experience to the amateur cycling comminity. The event registered with British Cycling, the sport's governing body and with a sell-out field of 4,000 riders it is widely recognised and  the most prestigious open-road Sportive in the UK, attracting cyclists from around the world!

There are three route options to choose from; the Piccolo which is 38 miles, the Medio which is 68 miles or the Grande which is 110 miles. Both the Medio and Grande routes include Gold, Silver & Bronze medal standards based on age and gender categories plus a closed-road, timed hill-climb segment, offering a more personalised challenge for the riders. The shorter Piccolo route is intended to be a less competetive and a less daunting option. Rider numbers are restricted to 500 and there are no age related medal times to worry about. Piccolo riders still enjoy the full Dartmoor Classic experience with everyone receiving a Finishers Medal.

The route are all clearly signed and marshalled and have well stocked feed stations. Our dedicated control room is just a phone call away, with professional mechanics, paramedics and support vans available to support you if required. We also have a number of 'Ride Ambassadors' from the Mid-Devon Cycling Club who will be riding the routes with you, offering reassurance and support.
