Ewan Warren joins Fundación De Ciclismo Benicadell for early season training in late January before commencing his racing season in February. The popular 20 year old from Exeter made a successful return to racing in 2022 and claimed four wins catching the eye of prospective teams.
Ewans’ new team will compete in the Copa Espana UCI level events, the U23 Veulta Espana, Vuelta Panama and Saudi Tour – competing in races that former team mate Harrison Wood excelled in before being signing for his debut season with world tour team Cofidis
Ewan thanked Mid Devon CC for its support and to the Dartmoor Classic for assisting with funding a busy season of racing in the UK. He looks forward to developing his cycling career further and that his new team will provide a platform for him to progress further.
Note from Ewan to MDCC.
"And yeah sure, so the plan atm is to do a week training camp from 26th jan to get sized up for kit and bikes etc.
Then around Feb 15th go back out for the duration of the season. The team is called Brocar - ale (their social media is fundacion_ciclismo_benicadell). I don’t know the full calendar past the copa espana cup races as it has not been announced yet, but I know that we will be doing all 11 copa espana uci level races which have teams like caja rural eolo kometa etc and many world tour development teams. As well as this we will do the national stage racing calendar which includes races that Harrison had success at last season (vuelta navarra and bidasoa itzulia) and the u23 vuelta espana, vuelta tenerife and more at the end of the season. The team also does international races like Saudi tour which includes world tour teams, tour of Panama and the ràs in Ireland which will be very cool for me. When we go out later this month we should get more info on full race schedule but for now that is pretty much what I know"
Thanks, Ewan
Dartmoor Classic send him good luck and look forward to catching up with him when racing commitments allow.
